The King’s Cross Group’s employment service KX Recruit begins new chapter to connect more local people with jobs and opportunity

October 2026

• The local employment service KX Recruit becomes a Community Interest Company after helping over 2,000 people into work.

• New structure will allow KX Recruit to grow its partnerships, reach more people and build on its role connecting local communities with opportunities across King’s Cross and the surrounding areas.

• The King’s Cross Group will continue to support KX Recruit as part of its wider commitment to ensuring the benefits of King’s Cross are shared locally.

KX Recruit, The King’s Cross Group’s employment service helping local people access jobs and employers find talent across King’s Cross and the surrounding area, has become a Community Interest Company (CIC) as it begins its next phase of growth.

For more than a decade, KX Recruit has worked to ensure that the growth and investment taking place at King’s Cross translates into opportunities for the communities around it. Since 2014, it has helped over 2,000 people into employment and worked with more than 300 local employers.

The move to CIC status gives KX Recruit a stronger platform to grow its partnerships, diversify its grants and support more people over the long term. The King’s Cross Group will continue to support KX Recruit as part of its wider commitment to ensuring local people can participate in the opportunities created by the estate, from skills and training to access to employment and career pathways.

KX Recruit is a wholly owned subsidiary of The King’s Cross Group and as a CIC, all its profits will be reinvested in support of its community purpose. This set up enabled KX Recruit to operate with greater financial and operational independence.

KX Recruit will continue as a key delivery partner for The King's Cross Group's social impact programme, helping to deliver the Group's Good Work and Belonging strategy. The partnership brings together a shared focus on creating access to good work, alongside opening doors to skills, training and opportunities. The strategy is also focused on fostering a strong sense of belonging within the local community by creating opportunities for local people to connect, contribute and help shape the future of the neighbourhood.

Chloe Tarrant-Stanton, Director of KX Recruit, said: “King’s Cross has changed enormously over the past decade, creating thousands of jobs and opportunities. KX Recruit was established to help make sure local people could share in that success. We work with people to understand where they want to get to, help them build the skills and confidence they need and then also work directly with employers to create routes into good jobs.

“Becoming a CIC is an important milestone for KX Recruit. It gives us a stronger platform for the future so we can reach more people, broaden the support we provide and continue creating opportunities across King’s Cross and the surrounding area for the long term.”

That next phase is already under way. KX Recruit has been appointed by Urban Partners to drive social impact across King’s Cross, St Pancras and Euston, extending its reach while continuing its work with employers and communities across Camden and Islington.

Sonal Jain, Sustainability & Social Impact Director at The King's Cross Group, said: "The success of King’s Cross should be measured by the opportunities it creates for the people and communities around us.

"KX Recruit has become an important part of how we put that ambition into practice, supporting local people while helping businesses at King’s Cross access talent. Its move to CIC status provides a strong foundation for its next phase to grow its impact and we are proud to continue supporting KX Recruit, as a close partner and an important part of our Good Work and Belonging programme."

Since 2014, KX Recruit has supported more than 25,000 local residents and helped over 2,000 people secure employment opportunities. Of those who found work through the programme, 69% were previously unemployed, highlighting the lasting impact KX Recruit is having on local communities and individual lives

Its support spans the full pathway to employment, equipping candidates with the skills, confidence and experience needed to succeed, while partnering with employers to create accessible and inclusive routes into long-term careers.
